I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder

From Amazon:
Girl meets boy.
Girl loses boy.
Girl gets boy back...
...sort of.
Ava can't see him or touch him, unless she's dreaming. She can't hear hisvoice, except for the faint whispers in her mind. Most would think she'scrazy, but she knows he's here.
Jackson. The boy Ava thought she'd spend the rest of her life with. He's back from the dead, as proof that love truly knows no bounds.

I've been meaning to read this for a while as there are so many great reviews for it, but having never read a novel written in verse I wasn't sure if I would like it. I was surprised to find I did and was pleased I decided to give it a try. Despite it being a quick read the story still managed to have a great deal of depth - I found myself really moved by it - especially the end. I also really enjoyed all the characters and was surprised at how much story and characterisation could be included. Overall this was a great story told really well. I look forward to reading more books by this author and really enjoyed reading something completely different from anything I've read before.

I've read this book too and I loved it. I can recommend some other YA verse novels, in case you're interested - also quick reads with lots of depth. The ones by Sonya Sones are brilliant, and I absolutely love A Bad Boy Can Be Good For a Girl by Tanya Lee Stone.

Also Lisa Schroeder has written another book which I really want to read!

Anyway, great review - thanks very much!
